11. Equipment Guidelines

Equipment Guidelines]

This document provides guidelines on what kit can and can't be worn to play rugby.

Note

[1] Equipment [e.g. Head Guards, Shoulder Pads and Chest Pads] should have the iRB Approved Clothing Label

[2] The wearing of a mouth guard is recommended for all players taking part in contact rugby training sessions and matches.

[3] Before each match the referee will inspect the player’s clothing and studs to ensure that they confirm to iRB regulations. The referee has the power to decide at any time, before or during the match or training session, that part of a player’s clothing is dangerous or illegal. Please remember the decision of the referee regarding what equipment can and cannot be worn is final.
