As you may be aware, the club has been in discussions with the Rugby Football Union (‘RFU’) in relation to an Artificial Grass Pitch (‘AGP’) at Crowborough RFC.
The RFU AGP programme is operational with Phase One and Two having already been delivered. Phase Three is taking place over the summer of 2018, with Phase Four scheduled for delivery in spring 2019.
Crowborough RFC had been identified as a potential AGP site by the RFU for Phase Three of the programme. However, due to the tight time frames involved it has not been possible for either the club or the RFU to meet the required commitments to ensure successful delivery by the beginning of next playing season. As a result, both parties felt it was in everyone’s best interests to postpone the schedule for Phase Four delivery in spring 2019.
The Exec would like to invite all members to a presentation at the club on Friday 15 June from 7.30pm. This presentation will include the following information:
- Background on the AGP programme.
- Operational issues and challenges.
- Legal and financial implications.
- Health and safety concerns.
- Community engagement and leverage.
- Club strategy and vision.
The above topics are intended as a high level agenda and more information about each will be discussed in greater detail on the night.
We very much hope you can join us for what is a potentially hugely exciting time for the club.
Please could you update Pitchero of your intention to attend, as it will allow us to gauge numbers in advance of the evening.
We look forward to seeing you then.
With best wishes.
Crowborough RFC Executive
