Former CRFC players representing the Home Nations against France in the Armistice Match in France

We are very proud to have two of our former players Nigel Pooley (left) and Alex Stevenson (right) to be playing for the Wooden Spoon Vintage Team representing the Home Nations against France in the Armistice Match to commemorate 100 years since the end of WW1. The match is being played at Compiègne in France which is the nearest stadium to where the Armistice Agreement was signed.

Pictured here with Mathew Mitchell (middle) the National Rugby Manager for Wooden Spoon, they have the pleasure of touring and playing alongside 2 British and Irish Lions, Fergus Slattery and John Taylor and 4 other national cap winners.
They are feel extremely privileged to be invited to be part of this.

We should never forget the sacrifices made by so many to ensure our freedom.
