On Sunday CRFC held its first U13 & U15 girls XRugby 7s tournament. XRugby 7s is a new format of rugby and is ideal for clubs with squads that don’t have a full complement of players at each age group. It it allows players to develop many of the core skills – tacking, rucking, mauling, lineouts and scrums but with less players.

Teams from Heathfield & Waldron, Hove, Sevenoaks and Tunbridge Wells came along to try out this new style. All the girls had plenty of match play and it was a great initiation for our girls who got stuck in and really upped their games. It was great to see so many girls having fun and all getting to know the other teams despite experiencing all the seasons on the year within the 2 hours of playing
