Amazing achievement from former Crowborough RFC girls rugby player

Millie Coe played rugby at Crowborough U6 and continued through U7 to U8 coached by Steve Edwards and JP Loveland who instilled a love for the game. She stopped playing at U9 when the game changed to contact and at the time Crowborough didn’t have a girls team. Millie joined the women’s rugby team when she started Leicester university. She was selected for the first team in her first season and has continued to start in the first team every year since.

She continued to develop her rugby and joined Loughborough Ladies RFC in her third year and was selected to represent Leicestershire County being moved straight from the development squad to the County squad. She has since started every game for them at 6 or 7. In the Gill Burns Women’s County Championship they first played Warwickshire winning 31-5, Staffordshire winning 55-0, and in their final pool match they beat Cheshire 26-12. The semi-final against Hertfordshire was a hard fought physical contest. The ladies never gave up and scored just before the final whistle, Leicestershire winning 24-22.

The women now march forward to Twickenham on 8th June at 1pm to play Buckinghamshire in the final of the Gill Burns Women’s County Championship.
