The Wheatsheaf hosted a historic Dwile Flonking match against Crowborough RFC on 12th July (historic because no one has ever heard of it, let alone played it before). The pictures probably tell the story, so suffice to say it is a kind of wet and beery grown up Ring a Ring o’ Roses. All participants, musicians and spectators enjoyed an hilarious and mercifully warm, sunny afternoon while beer and barbecue flowed, watching these two teams flonk themselves to a standstill. The result? An honourable draw at 6 points all - there are actually some rules, but since the umpire largely invented his own as the match progressed they are not worth committing to print!
