The 2011/12 Season was one of consolidation for Crowborough 2s. After managing to avoid the drop the season before, the Squad built on the expansive style of play rather than getting dragged in to the more forwards dominated game so common at this level. The cumulated in a league finish of 7th in the Sussex Intermediate League. A historic record league finish for Crowborough 2’s!
The team had a mix of results, struggling at times with injuries to both their squad, and those in the First XV. We beat both teams who gained promotion this year, with the pinnacle of the season a 17-5 drubbing of Midhurst 1st XV, the league champions, at home on the final game of the season.
Looking towards the 2012/13 season, the goal is nothing short of promotion. With the First XV gaining promotion last season, it is essential the 2s replicate this and gain a place in the Sussex 1 league. The 2s will form a development squad supporting the First XV giving stronger routes for player development and integrating the exciting brand of expansive Crowborough Rugby.
We would like to thank our Sponsor, Kitch Designer Wear of Tunbridge Wells, for ensuring we continue to be well turned out for the job at hand on a weekly basis!
The foundations are set for 2012/13 to be a great year for the 2s, with another record league finish on the cards! Please get in touch if you would like to get involved!
