Crowborough Colts
Having proven their ability at Under 16 level Dave Pass (Colts Head Coach) is confident that this season’s squad of colts won’t be daunted by moving straight into the Under 18’s league. “The team played some attractive rugby last season and this will be a solid foundation for the tough test ahead”.
The squad is made up of players with great school, county and club experience so the challenge is now to ensure they understand the demands of adult rugby, which Under 18 rugby most definitely is. The objective for the colts coaching staff at Crowborough RFC is to prepare the squad for the step up to senior rugby and hopefully the 1st XV in years to come. In order for this to manifest itself the squad will need to have a determination to win, a dedication to train and to play within the ethos and standards of Crowborough Rugby Club as a whole.
As last season Dave will have the support of Graham Callard as Assistant Coach with Pete Groenen and Steve Smith taking on the important team management roles.
In addition to the Under 18 league the squad will be entered for the Under 17 National Cup Competition. Neither will be easy as the standard of Sussex Colts rugby is high but our opponents can be assured that we will be ready, we will play attractive 15-man rugby, but most of all it will be always be played within the true friendship expected of the great game we all enjoy.
