CRFC U12’s vs Tunbridge Wells
By David Shortland
Friendly match against local rivals
With 10 players injured or unavailable it was a great opportunity for all available lads to get a good runout. With Tunbridge Wells turning up with enough for two teams it was agreed we would play 2 x 20 min matches and they would play 1 x 20 min match against their two sides.
CRFC had less than an ideal start when 25 mins before kickoff , we only had 8 players pitchside warming up. However by kickoff everyone was ready to play.
The lack of pre match warm up / preparation reflected in a sluggish start but as the game progressed we started to see some great running and passing from the boys also some great rugby from all the lads who only joined this season and are new to rugby (the first game ended 0 - 15) .
A chat from the coaches and a few positional changes just before kick off and the second game got off to a flying start. With every player fully committed to every tackle and breakdown it is fair to say the team dominated the game and scored 2 great team tries and won the second game 10 - 0
Overall a superb effort from every lad and a well deserved rest next week before the waterfall games start again
