2025/26 Senior Awards Night

What a Great Night was had by all !

Ollie Jude-Trailor took charge, and became our MC for the evening. Drawing a close on the 2025/26 Rugby Season, For the Walking Rugby Team, The Women’s And Men’s Senior Teams . The event was held at the Steel Cross Club House, on Saturday 23rd May 2026. It was a great evening despite the very hot weather with the usual fun and frolic’s were had at the `Senior Awards Evening`. This year’s theme was the Great Gatsby and everyone looked fabulous, especially the ladies, who really made the evening so much brighter, with their dresses and the usual glitz n’ glitter they bring ……….
WHAT A FANTASTIC JOB EVERYONE !
The Award for the best theme dressed male – Tom Woodgate and the best dressed lady was Helen Gorringe, Congratulations what a great effort !
So, onto the Awards – first up James Reading , deputizing for Mike Berry who was `Away` telling us about the Walking Rugby seen, He gave us a great review of the season and how it went. They had a very successful season this year, with a number of great results and gaining new players all the time. And so onto the Awards :
Walking Rugby – Player of the Year – Tracey Coton
Community Rugby Champion – Jules Crooks
The stage was then set for Sharon Green our Women’s Rugby Chairman to give us an insight into the women’s season. A somewhat emotional Sharon gave us her highlights of their season and the wins they picked up along the way…….She also announced the Senior Ladies have now entered the Women's NC 3 South East (South) league, for the 2026/27 season.
Here are the women’s award winners for this season:
Players Player of the Year - Donna Woodgate
Most Improved - Chloe Lewin
Outstanding Squad Contribution - Hailey Gorringe
Coaches Award - Jessica Wood
Breakthrough Player - Nadine Reading
Touch Rugby Player of the Year - Sophie Jenner

It was then over to Paul Gray, who took centre stage to Introduce, The Mens Senior Awards, And summarized the performance of the two men’s sides for the season.
Adam King presented the Awards, as the outgoing 1st XV team Captain.
The Awards were as follows:
The Senior Squad Contribution Award - Lee Cagna
2nd XV Players Player – Harry Gaynor
2nd XV Player of the Year – Tomo Norman
Young Player of the Year – Jared Hermann
1st XV Players Player – Joe Chapman
1st XV Player of the Year – Richard Tasker
The Prestigious Crowborough Faithful and Supporters Award was presented by Rick Howe this season it was given to Richard Tasker, As voted for by the Crowborough Faithful/spectators. Tasker has had an outstanding season and it was also announced that he will lead the 1st XV next season as 1st XV Team Captain. Well Done Tasker !!
And finally, Ollie and Paul, said their usual Thank you’s, And Adam presented some flowers to Jacqui, Lou, and Amy for the evening and the season past.
Congratulations to all the Award Winners and a great evening was had by all who attended.
