Crowborough RFC have currently received over £2,000 from the exploits of Le Rugby Ride and are set to receive yet more as donations continue to come in.
On the 21st of May, Dan Turnock and Ben Martyn of Crowborough and Sussex Wooden Spoon Veterans teams carried a Match Ball from the venue of last year's European Rugby Cup Final at Twickenham, to this year's final in Marseille on 27th May. They completed this 850-mile journey by cycle in 7 days supported by Nigel Pooley and Dave Radford, whilst raising a total of £6175 for both Crowborough RFC and Wooden Spoon - the children's charity of rugby.
In Marseille, the ball was greatly received by Wooden Spoon Ambassador Luke Pearce, who refereed both the Heineken Champions Cup and EPCR Challenge Cup finals that weekend at the end of their epic journey.
Crowborough RFC are extremely proud of our association with Wooden Spoon and to have been appointed their first Partner Club in Sussex.
Anyone still wishing to donate can still do so here
