Crowborough RFC were delighted to host AXA PPP healthcare’s 75th Anniversary event at its Steel Cross home last weekend and to support their excellent nominated charity SERV Kent.
Post the event we were sorry to hear that concerns had been raised with The Courier.
The club took steps to advise near neighbours of the activity and on learning of concerns from others worked with AXA to make amendments to the program accordingly. Of course the club takes its community responsibilities very seriously and have already convened a post event review to build learning into its ongoing operating procedures. This of course includes a much wider communication to neighbours IF the club were to host an event of this scale again.
It must be stressed that Crowborough RFC operated entirely within any licensing constraints and followed all guidance relating to events of this nature in the planning and execution of last Saturday.
Crowborough RFC is proud of its contribution to the community. The work it does with local schools, the way it supports local children through rugby and its role as a venue for community use. It is also very proud to be able to work with highly valued local companies such as AXA PPP Healthcare and support the work they do in the community.
