On a gorgeous Friday 15th August the amazing CRFC Friday Club and their respected senior managers met for their annual BBQ. As always Jacqui, Louise and Ryan looked after the throng wonderfully. ‘Thank you team’.
It was an auspicious occasion as John ‘Damper’ Sayer stepped down as leader of this auspicious body of men. Chris Morgan gave an account of John’s unstinting contribution, the work done by the Friday Club, and of course made mention of the debate about whether liquid fertiliser trumps granular fertiliser, much to the merriment of those gathered. John was presented with the Fertiliser Directory as a memento of his work, plus an engraved silver salver for posterity.
Once the formalities were completed the group got stuck into the wonderful food and consumed copious amounts of alcohol to boot. They enjoyed sharing reminiscences of past glories, trips to far flung places such as Dover and Deal, and the challenges the current drought is causing.
In addition to those mentioned above thanks go Kate Smith and the mini section for their generous donation to the drinks kitty. To the club Exec for their support. Thanks must go to those who turn up week in week out, sun, wind, rain or plague of frogs to the keep the club and its grounds in pristine condition, that is THE Friday Club.
