Following government advice yesterday afternoon, the Rugby Football Union (RFU) will suspend all rugby activity in England, at both professional and community level, including club training, league and cup matches plus rugby education courses from Tuesday 17th March until Tuesday 14th April. This suspension will be subject to continued review. The decision has been taken following government advice in the interests of players, coaches, referees, volunteers, supporters and the wider rugby union community.
Yesterday afternoon at the Government’s Covid-19 briefing at which they have advised against all non-essential social contact (offices, pubs, clubs) and non-essential travel, we have also taken the difficult decision to close the club until Tuesday 14th April, which is in line with RFU suspension period. All activity at the club has been suspended effective immediately.
We are continuing to monitor the situation very closely and will be providing updates on a regular basis.
With kind regards.
Alex Hunn
Chairman (on behalf of the Exec Committee)
