Crowborough Rugby Club is blessed with many volunteers and great staff. The coaches and team administrators at all levels, Jacqui and Louise and Ryan, the Exec, people like young Ian Geering, and many, many more. They are what makes the club the place it is: great to be part of.

There are a group of old fogeys who also do their bit. The fabled Friday Club. No spring chickens here, just blokes who want to put something into the club using their expertise and their enthusiasm. Whether it be picking up litter, tending to the pitches, fixing that that needs to be fixed, to helping Jacqui and Louise keep the kitchen and bar in pristine condition. It simply gets done.

There is also a strong social bond. As you get older your social circle gets smaller and there is risk you become isolated at home. Every Friday these guys get together from 8am and are usually there until 12noon. The highlight of the social calendar is the Christmas bash, held at the Kings Arms in Rotherfield. Great food, great company, a huge lot of laughs punctuated by groans at failing to get the quiz questions right. This year was a cracker (pardon the pun). Simon Davies organised it brilliantly. Needless to say a lot of wine was consumed and heads the following day were somewhat tender. The guys deserve all the praise they get.
