Across the club from the Under 6s to the 1st XV the recent prolonged spell of weather has caused significant disruption to training and playing, and without question has driven frustration levels up.
The Club’s Exec are working tirelessly to find solutions, and keep the membership engaged. The Friday Club continue to put heart and soul into getting pitches playable, but recently to no avail. Sadly the weather is out of our control and solutions require significant investment.
What can be done? Exactly what is being done right now, epitomised by last week’s league lunch despite the game being cancelled, continue to support the club.
Yes, last Saturday despite the weather making the pitches totally unplayable 40+ members still turned up for lunch, and a mighty fine one it was too. Steak & ale pie, roast potatoes and vegetables, with cheese & biscuits to follow, plus mini eclairs to round things off. Of course there was good chat, good banter, good beer and good wine.
The staff were great and Louise, Jacqui and Ryan worked tirelessly to make the afternoon as enjoyable as possible despite the game being off.
Keep checking the website for events. The Six Nations is ongoing. There is THE quiz coming up. More league lunches to enjoy. Let’s do what we can despite our frustrations and disappointments.
