Saturday's match report from Josh Llewellyn -
In the sunny weather the mighty Crows headed down to Burgess hill 3’s for a fiery friendly after Ditchling 2’s last minute cancellation.
With pure confidence/arrogance the Crows decided skip pre match training to kick off early lapping up the boggy ankle breaking pitch in their pride.
The first try came early from the crows with a wide ball scoring on the far right hand side of the pitch.
Unfortunately 15 was unable to covert this and the Crows lead 5-0.
Burges hill came back strongly, with their 10 making a run and a few missed tackles from Crowborough they levelled the score 5-5.
The scoring didn’t stop there though with tries from Luke (15) Wilkinson, Mark (Hit boy) Hart, Ash ( The Sin Bin King) Ludgate, George (Big Beard) Bigwood and maybe some others I may have missed along with 2 amazing runs from Mike White head and Ollie Jude-Trailor.
The new guys to the squad put in an excellent performance and Richard Whitaker in true fashion got sin binned.
At one point Dave Shortland spoke up when he saw a Burgess Hill player kneeing Phil hart in the back! Unfortunately I missed this as there was a cool fight on the other side of the pitch between Brighton 3’s and Burgess hill 2’s.
The opposition’s club house had Birra Moretti on tap which was a huge bonus but loads off weird yucky vegetables in the after match pasta.
In conclusion I don’t really remember what happened after the first 5 minutes, I think the final score was 37-17 it was a great day out for the crows and we left with a great win however I came back with a nasty scratch that I’m still very sad about.
