

What a day to play rugby the sun was shining and we travelled down to coast to play our last league game of the season against a strong mix side of Hastings Bexhill and Seaford. Captain Jess Vos lead the girls out onto the pitch and the game started with a kick from No10 Nellie Jupp, some great pressure tackles and rucks got us to our first scrum of the game, this is something the forwards have been working really hard on for the past few weeks and the hard work paid off winning the scrum saw scrum half Tilly ship the ball out to the backs and with some great phases Nellie Jupp fights through to score the first try followed by and excellent kick to make it 0-7 Crowborough.
HB&S Fight Back to Take the Lead
With HB&S restarting it was clear we were in for a good game as they fort back and quickly scored a try and conversion to make things all square 7-7 HB&S battled on and scored another try not converted to take us to the end of the first half 12-7 HB&S. A quick break and chat with The coaches we start the second half unfortunaly with HB&S scoring another try which was converted to make the score 19-7 HB&S.
The Crows Mount a Gritty Comeback
Crowborough not putting their heads down and pushing on hard with yet again tackling rucking and scrumming well and even winning some well practiced lineouts saw crowborough get thier second try with a fantastic run from scrumhalf Tilly and streching over the line, the try was converted by Nellie making the score 19-14 HB&S. The game started again and with that saw some more great work from the girls to secure another try over the line this time by No8 Daisy Howes not converted bringing the game all sqaure 19-19.
Tension Rises as Captain Vos Takes the Lead
Things were getting tense the girls showing some real grit and determination lots more phases sees crowborough take the lead with a try from captain Jess Vos and converted by Nellie to take the score to 19-26 crowborough. HB&S not giving up pushed back and again some great play from both teams saw HB&S score a try not converted bringing the score to a nail biting 24-26 crowborough.
Final Whistle Drama: The Try-Saving Hit
4 mins to go and HB&S were fighting hard but crowborough were doing everything they could to stop them and with one final run at the try line HB&S passed it out to the fast wing and she was off we couldn't look she was going to score but with great defence double teaming from Nellie Jupp and winger Lua Kelly BANG the try saving hit came and the sweet sound of the final whistle was heard and the crowd went wild. They did it the hard work had paid off what a game and what a victory GO CROWS
