Walking Rugby Festival at Burgess Hill RFC

It was great to be invited to attend a festival at Burgess Hill RFC as a replacement for a match vs Old Reigatians. The trusty 7 met up at Steel Cross to make our way to Burgess Hill in two cars. One car took the correct route, the other didn’t. But the views of the local countryside was much appreciated by those travelling in the 2nd car. Also an eclectic playlist on the car entertainment system. Foo Fighters, The Who and Tina Turner. 

To more important matters - there was representation from 5 different clubs (BHRFC, CRFC, Barns Green RFC, Horsham RFC and Seaford RFC) with about 40 players in total, including about 10 lady players. Rather than play for your own team we were all split up to play in mixed teams and we all played 3 matches, with mixed success. As CRFC are fairly new to the game, it was worthwhile to be educated in the way others play.

Crowborough then played one final fixture vs Barns Green, who have been playing for about 3 years. Our inexperience showed (see above) but a very even match was enjoyed by all, with Barns Green just coming out on top.

Unfortunately, we were not able to stay to celebrate the day as we needed to get back to watch Argentina vs Wales. ?
